Compressive nano-FTIR chemical mapping

چکیده

Abstract Nano-Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (nano-FTIR) combines with scanning probe microscopy (SPM) techniques and enables spectroscopic imaging of molecular electronic properties matter at nanometer spatial resolution. The can be used to derive chemical mappings, i.e. the distribution concentrations species contained in a given sample. However, due sequential principle underlying SPM, recording complete spectrum over large area leads long measurement times. Furthermore, acquired often contains additional signals from lineshape effects that are not explicitly accounted for. A compressive mapping approach is proposed for undersampled nano-FTIR data utilizes sparsity these spectral domain. projection technique standard compressed sensing, followed by spatially regularized regression. Using real measurements superimposed simulated interferograms representing species, it demonstrated procedure performs well even cases which sparse exhibit strong overlap.

Nano-FTIR chemical mapping of minerals in biological materials

Methods for imaging of nanocomposites based on X-ray, electron, tunneling or force microscopy provide information about the shapes of nanoparticles; however, all of these methods fail on chemical recognition. Neither do they allow local identification of mineral type. We demonstrate that infrared near-field microscopy solves these requirements at 20 nm spatial resolution, highlighting, in its f...

A Multivariate Methodological Workflow for the Analysis of FTIR Chemical Mapping Applied on Historic Paint Stratigraphies

In the field of applied researches in heritage science, the use of multivariate approach is still quite limited and often chemometric results obtained are often underinterpreted. Within this scenario, the present paper is aimed at disseminating the use of suitable multivariate methodologies and proposes a procedural workflow applied on a representative group of case studies, of considerable imp...

Photon counting compressive depth mapping

We demonstrate a compressed sensing, photon counting lidar system based on the single-pixel camera. Our technique recovers both depth and intensity maps from a single under-sampled set of incoherent, linear projections of a scene of interest at ultra-low light levels around 0.5 picowatts. Only two-dimensional reconstructions are required to image a three-dimensional scene. We demonstrate intens...

and undersampling with R = 2 (b). A single profile through one of the coil maps is shown in c) Fig. 1 Simulated AFI flip-angle maps for 8-channel system. B1 maps are shown for the ideal data (a), fully sampled noisy data (b) and subsampled data (R=2) (c). The NRMSE with respect to the ideal maps is 0.066 for R = 1 and 0.050 for R = 2. A profile through the maps in d) shows the deviation from th...

Digital compressive chemical quantitation and hyperspectral imaging.

Digital compressive detection, implemented using optimized binary (OB) filters, is shown to greatly increase the speed at which Raman spectroscopy can be used to quantify the composition of liquid mixtures and to chemically image mixed solid powders. We further demonstrate that OB filters can be produced using multivariate curve resolution (MCR) to pre-process mixture training spectra, thus fac...
